
Charles Clearmont Hamilton

Charles Clearmont Hamilton, 58, of Ontario, returned to his precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at his residence following a brief illness.
Charles was born December 7, 1951 in Mansfield to John David and Betty Jean (Harris) Hamilton. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Viet Nam Era and had worked as an Assistant School Attendant for the Oregon City Schools in Toledo.
A man said by him, was never more blessed with love and the joy his Savior rewarded each minute of every day. Having various employment opportunities and endeavors, none were near as rewarding as marrying the love of his life and sharing life, love, and joy with his children and grandchildren. Chuck attended Westwood Alliance Church and participated in sharing the love of Jesus Christ for slightly more than 14 years. His life mission statement was not to be a St. Paul but a King David, forgiven by his Savior for his sin but a man after God’s own heart.
Along with his wife of 31 years, Pauline Smith Hamilton, he is survived by four children, William (Erynn) Hamilton of Mansfield, Mark Hamrick and Cristina Archer of Mansfield, Nisa (Frank) Hunt of Lexington, and Stacy Cogar of Mansfield; eight grandchildren, Katie, Megan, and Jeremy Hunt, Taylor, Mark, Jr., and Bryce Hamrick, Cheyenne and Ethynn Browning; and one brother, John (Bonnie) Hamilton of Mansfield.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2010 in Windsor Park Cemetery with Pastor Doyle Peyton officiating.

Lamar S. Kessler

Lamar S. Kessler, 84, of Mansfield, passed away Monday, February 22, 2010 at OSU Medical Center in Columbus following a brief illness.
Lamar was born September 30, 1925 in Winding Gulf, West Virginia to Lamar and Nola G. (Weickle) Kessler. He had proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and had retired from Westinghouse. Lamar liked to tinker around the house and enjoyed remodeling. He especially like to fish and spend time with his kids and grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Tosca V. Simmons Kessler; three sons, Alan (George Ann) Kessler of Mansfield, Gregory (Mary Jo) Kessler of West Salem, and Randall Kessler of Mansfield; six grandchildren, Sarah, Sean, Aubrey, Aaron, Ryan, and Heather; five great-grandchildren, Grace, Maura, Maddy, Michael, and one on the way; two sisters, Sona Farmer of Cleveland and Sue Totten of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Lamar was preceded by two brothers, Jack Kessler and Aubrey Kessler.
The family will have a private graveside service at a later date.

Marian Damhoff Bonte
Marian Damhoff Bonte, 84, of Palm Harbor, FL, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Primrose Retirement Community, Mansfield, following a brief illness.
Marian was born April 2, 1925 in Taylorville, Illinois to Leroy and Lillian (Johnson) Damhoff. She was a graduate of Iowa State University.
She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Bonte Bell of Indianapolis, Indiana and Penny (Kenneth) Ekegren of Mansfield; six grandchildren, David Ekegren, Karen Ekegren, Thomas Ekegren, Vance Bell, Lisa Bell Jamison, and M. Anthony Bell; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, LeRoy Damhoff, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Bert Bonte; her parents; and one son-in-law, Mick Bell.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2010 in the chapel of First Congregational Church, 640 Millsboro Road, Mansfield. Refreshments will follow the service.

Sharon Vi Pewonski Miller
Sharon Vi Pewonski Miller, 65, of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Sharon was born March 17, 1944 in Mansfield to Raymond Elmore and Margaret Estella (Lee) Pewonski. She was a 1962 graduate of Madison High School and loved and enjoyed her family and dogs.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Peter Miller; two children, Jeff Miller of Florida and Amy Miller of Columbus; two grandchildren, Zachery Smith and Davia Miller
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents.

Raymond C. Schmidt

Raymond C. Schmidt, 84, of Mansfield, passed away Thursday Evening, February 11, 2010 at the Hospice House in Ashland following a stoic battle with cancer.
Raymond was born January 20, 1926 in Mansfield to Adam and Jeannette (Brumm) Schmidt. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific and Asiatic Fleets as a Fireman 1st Class on the U.S.S. Harding. He participated in many of the Harding reunions in the United States. He received a commendation for saving a shipmate from electrocution and was honorably discharged in 1946.
Raymond was wed to Phillis Voyik Schmidt, who passed away in 2003 following 56 years of marriage. He attended Trinity Lutheran Church of Ashland and was a member of the Veteran’s of Foreign War, the American Legion, and St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.
Raymond retired from Borden Dairy in 1988. He then worked part-time for Neff’s Markets and as a courier for Joyce Buick of Mansfield. His dream job for the past several years was at The Woods Golf Course working for the Wooldridge family. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the company of golfers of all ages. He also enjoyed music and performances at the Renaissance Theatre and the Mansfield and Ashland Symphonies, which he attended with his friend, Donna Siebert.
He is survived by one daughter, Jennifer and David Repp; daughter-in-law, Nancy Schmidt; six grandchildren, William and Christie Schmidt, Chris and Karen Schmidt, Susan and Victor Kyaw, Jody and Kurt Brown, Ross and Natasha Repp, and Dinah Stanfield; ten great grandchildren, Spencer Repp, Hayli Schmidt, Margaret "Beth" Schmidt, Madison and Jonah Kyaw, Wyatt and Phyllis Stanfield, Weston and Granthem Brown, and Owen Repp; six step grandchildren; and one great-great grandson; dearest friend and partner, Donna Siebert; one sister, Jean Ann Voyik; two sisters-in-law, Jean Callihan and Emily Springston; numerous nieces and nephews; and loyal and helpful friend, Don Wilson.
Along with his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; his beloved son, Charles; his lifetime friend and brother-in-law, James Voyik; brother and sister-in-law, Edwin and Naomi Schmidt; sister and brother-in-law, Marge and Jack Hallman; two brothers-in-law, Dale Callihan and Ike Springston; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jack’s Place, 508 Center, Ashland, with Pastor Jeff Messner officiating. A reception will follow the service. Cremains placement will be held at a later date. Werner-Gompf Funeral Services is in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Michael Angel Suarez

Michael Angel Suarez, 52, of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a brief illness.
Michael was born August 20, 1957 in Matanzas, Cuba to Miguel Angel and Julia (Rodriguez) Suarez. He was a member of the VFW 3494, Sons of Herman, and the Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa M. Boring Suarez; two daughters, Gloria and Teresita Suarez who live at home; three step children, William Gossett, who is serving in the Army, Carrie (Michael) Scaravelli of Cleveland, and David (Simone) Noble of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Brandi, Laura, and Michael; one great grandchild, Antonio; one sister, Mary (David) Hayhurst of San Diego, California; and one brother-in-law, Bobby Compton of Mansfield.
Along with his parents, Michael was preceded in death by one sister, Maria Suarez Compton.
Calling hours will be from 10:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the new location of Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, formerly Werner Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Funeral service with military honors performed by Richland Co. Joint Veterans Burial Detail will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Larry Corn and Chuck Sloan officiating. Charles A. Dille, Jr.

Charles A. Dille, Jr., 85, of Mansfield, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Crystal Care Center in Ashland following an extended illness.
Charles was born June 27, 1924 in Mansfield to Charles Almond, Sr. and Hattie (Flowers) Dille. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp. in the European Theatre during WWII, receiving 5 Presidential Citations and 4 Bronze Stars. He retired in 1988 as a salesman for Mateer Ford. Charles was a member of Mansfield Baptist Temple, where he had served as the Sunday School Superintendent for 34 years, was a Sunday School teacher, started the College and Career Sunday School Class in 1961, was active in the Jr. Church Program, sang in the choir, and participated in the Temple Toppers. He was a member of AARP and was an avid life member of the NRA. Charles was a former Mayor of Bellville, past President of Bellville City Council, had been a Mansfield City Fireman, owned his own construction company, and was a Boy Scout leader.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Martha Dille; four sons, Charles Allen (Lori) Dille, III, Roy E. (Julia) Dille all of Mansfield, Thomas E. (Peggy) Dille of Butler, and Ronald (Pamela) Dille also of Mansfield; eight grandchildren, Matt (Kathy) Dille, Todd (Brianne) Dille, Meredith (Jason) Wendling, Theresea Dille, Christina (Jason) Ruhl, Sarah (Ryan) Shade, Bethany Dille, and Erin (Jason) Green; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Martha Naomi Wentz of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Charles was preceded in death by one brother, Lloyd Dille; and three sisters, Wilhelmina Zents, Mildred Palmer, and Thelma Tinkey.
Calling hours will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the new location of Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, formerly Werner Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Funeral service with military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Mansfield Baptist Temple, 752 N. Stewart Road with Pastor Dale V. Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
